Beneath the trees, whole families of plants live and work together. We will look for the smallest of these. We will create a Fandex that identifies five families: ferns, moss, forbs, fungii, and wild flowers. we will look at the structure of each of its habits, its gifts and defenses. We will search for the elusive orchids of East Rock Park.
Learn the rules of careful collecting. Then build an artful Terrarium, an indoor garden that will take care of itself.
Choose to help plant a Milkweed garden (to save the Monarch butterflies), make a milkweed planter to take home, create a moss sculpture for your garden at home, make a press to dry and save grasses and flowers, or make paper out of field grasses.
